I was sick with the flu yesterday, so needless to say, my kids got ignored all day long. I heard Ethan playing around, and counting. I asked him what he was doing, since he was the only one home and Megan was sleeping. He said, I am playing hide and seek! I asked, who with? He replied, Lucky (our dog). I asked him where lucky was, and he said, he is counting. By then I said, WHERE DID YOU PUT LUCKY!!!??? He proceeded over to the closet, where lucky was hiding and counting. I couldn't help but take a picture. He is such a good boy to play all day with Lucky!

Beef's Birthday!

 
 
 
 
December 8th was Ethan's birthday. We actually celebrated it at Disneyland, but we had to do the whole candle thing. We started our morning out with Allison and Natey at the donut shop. Ethan wanted a donut for his birthday, so that is where we went! Later that day, he said where is my cake? I didn't have any cake, so we made Rootbeer floats, and I made him a sundae for his candles. Pretty bad I know. He loved it though. Rob and I got this Harley Santa from a gift exchange the night before, and when he woke up that morning, he asked me if that was his Happy Birthday Present. Of course I said yes, and he carried it around with him the whole day.

Taylors Dance Recital

 
 
 
 
Taylor had her dance recital at Hart High this past weekend. They did the cutest little song from Nightmare before Christmas. Her and Aliza were the best of course! All Taylors cousins came to see her. It is so funny because they all look up to her so much, and Taylor is so sweet to them! I think she is a little flattered!

Disneyland!

Here are some pics of our recent trip to Disneyland! We had a blast and it wasn't even very crowded, which was the best part. We went to celebrate Ethan's 4th birthday, which is on the 8th. His favorite ride was Space Mountain and Matterhorn! I couldn't believe it! He was scared of Pirates though, cuz dad told him there were alligators in the water! Nice job dad! He warmed up to the ride on day 2 of Disneyland. Jordan stayed home for an anatomy lab, we missed him so much! I still can't believe he would have rather gone to school than Disneyland!

Happy Turkey Day!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving day today. We had Thanksgiving with just the seven of us. I haven't cooked a Turkey dinner in 6 or 7 years. It's amazing how it all comes back to you! We did the traditional What are you Thankful for thing. My kids just don't know how to be serious. When it was Ethans turn, he stated he was thankful for Dads Eyeball. Who knows where that came from. But I guess we can be thankful for dads eyes, an unusual thing to be thankful for, but it'll work! The best part of the day was watching Ethan watch me prepare the Turkey. Here is how it went.

Ethan: What are you doing mom?
Mom: Getting the Turkey ready to put in the oven
Ethan: How did it get like that?
Mom: Well, someone had to kill it so we could eat it (not the best way I could have described it to my 3 year old!)
Ethan: Is that its butt?
Mom: Kind of.
Ethan: Yuck! Do we eat that?
Mom: No Ethan
Ethan: But why are you doing that, Chickens are so cute!
Mom: It's not a chicken, its a turkey.
Ethan: Well, Turkeys are cute too!
Mom: Well, that's what we eat on Thanksgiving.
Ethan: I do not want any (he was almost in tears!)
Mom: Why? It's the same as when I make you a turkey sandwich. This is how we get the turkey.
Ethan: Please mom, don't make me eat it, Please mom! (He said begging)
Mom: Fine, more for me!

I couldn't believe how disgusted he was with the whole process. He was so concerned when I was putting butter and seasonings under the skin, and when I was stuffing it with dressing. So I thought he would forget about it after 4 hours in the oven, but nope, he would not eat it. Is this how people become vegetarians?

Blessing

Jordan was able to receive his patriarchal blessing this past Sunday. He was so excited and just beaming the entire day. Patriarch Halverson is such a kind man. It was such a great day for Jordan, one he will always remember!

Soccer Party

I love this picture of Taylor looking up at Leonard. He said such kind things about Taylor, and her sweeping abilities. It was a fun year watching Taylor play soccer, even though I grumbled about it often! Thanks Coach Leonard for everything!

Excitement at the Mower Estate

So I was just relaxing on the couch on Saturday, when the kids came running in the house telling us there was a fire truck here. I was confused, but went outside, and sure enough, A fire truck with 4 heroes were here. Luckily, they weren't here for us, but they stayed for a little while and let the kids see the truck!

Ross, Sheri, and Astara

Ross, Sheri and Astara came from Vegas to visit with us last weekend. Rob had done some work on Ross' teeth, so they stayed for the weekend. Astara is 5 months old and such a cutie. We also went to visit with Dawn and Laura who were in Santa Clarita. Dawn has a Pig, yes a pig, named piggy. The kids thought it was great. It thinks it is part of the family and just walks around the house like a person. It even sits on cue. Here are some pics from our visit!

Taylors school performance

Taylor had a school performance last week where she danced and did the hula hoop. Here is a picture of her with her teacher Mrs. Graff.

Sabotage

Allison and I have been walking for about 3 1/2 months now. We have done so good but it is always a challenge to keep the boys entertained. We started to go on a bridge to keep them happy, then sometimes we would go to the park. One day I had the bright idea to go somewhere new, so we decided one day to walk to the donut shop. BIG MISTAKE! Now the boys want to do it every time we walk! Natey is so cute, he asks every day if we can go get a muffin (he means a donut though!) Our excuse each time is that we have no money. So, Ethan now has a stash of change that he steals from my basket of change so we can go once a week. Of course Allison and I must have one too! We justify it by walking the hard way back home to burn those calories off!

Boys and their Toys

Rob has always wanted a tractor. Thanks to the neighbors, we were able to use theirs and do some minor grading on our lot. The boys enjoyed riding with dad!

My Little Demons, I mean Demonstrators!

This picture was taken last Monday night outside of Rob's building. We gathered with alot of others from the stake, and had lots of positive response! We were only given the bird a couple of times. The kids had a great time and it was a great learning experience for them. I love that we have been able to talk about the propositions, the importance of our Heavenly Fathers plan, and marriage! They are all so young, but have such a great understanding. Jordan was even able to go out with his seminary class on two mornings and hold signs. I am so proud of him and his choice to talk freely with his peers about his beliefs. He was in the minority but that did not intimidate him at all. I feel so blessed to have been able to fight for this important principle! In the days since the election, I have pondered much on how the pioneers must have felt as they were driven out of their towns because of the persecution. What strong souls they must have been! I feel that I have had a glimpse of their pain as I watch on as our temples and churches are attacked because we have spoken up for ourselves and our beliefs! It is so sad to see, especially since the LDS population was only 2 percent of the Yes vote. It does make me happy to know that their are other faiths, and just righteous people out there who believe as I do. We are not alone in this, although sometimes we may feel as though we are. Sorry for the rambling! YEAH YES ON PROP 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
